This Learning Lab will equip pastors and leaders with a clear, actionable approach to church security in today’s rapidly changing environment.

Led by Matt Garrison with Perceptual Vigilance, this two-day training covers how to develop a security mindset, build an effective team, implement scalable safety protocols, and create a culture of awareness without creating fear.

Attendees will walk away with a healthier understanding of risk assessment, volunteer coordination, emergency response systems, and how to protect people while maintaining a warm, welcoming church environment.

About Matt Garrison

Matt Garrison is the founder and CEO of Perceptual Vigilance, bringing more than 30 years of law enforcement leadership experience as a police officer, deputy, and state trooper who rose to the rank of Lieutenant, including service as JOIC Commander in the Marfa Sector overseeing border operations, personnel, and assets for 60 commissioned officers.

He spent eleven years as Lead Patrol Procedures instructor at the Department of Public Safety academy, and later joined a Fortune 300 Department of Defense contractor, where he built the company’s first Executive Protection Program, designed its Security and Emergency Operations Center, and led active shooter training that reached more than 5,000 employees.

Matt founded Perceptual Vigilance alongside a team of experienced law enforcement and military professionals in response to the rising number of attacks on faith-based organizations across America. His training equips churches with an established, effective approach to safety and awareness – helping leaders protect their congregations without creating a culture of fear.
